Dubai's reputation for cost is earned, but these are free and worth your time.
Burj Khalifa (especially sunset slots), desert safaris over weekends, Aquaventure in peak season, XLine Dubai Marina. Everything else can usually be walked up or booked same-day.
Outdoor activities before noon or after 4pm in peak season. Souks mid-morning when suppliers are unloading. Fountains and rooftops after 6pm.
Anything outdoor between May–September is uncomfortable. Desert safaris run but it's 45°C. Stick to indoor attractions and book an air-conditioned base.
Beachwear at beach only. Shoulders and knees covered at souks, mosques and non-resort areas. Abayas provided at mosques — no need to bring your own.
