When is best — honestly
November to March is the best time to visit Dubai for weather — temperatures of 20–30°C, low humidity, clear skies, and a city operating at full energy. December is the peak month: perfect weather, the Dubai Shopping Festival, the world's most spectacular New Year's Eve under the Burj Khalifa. The tradeoff: hotels cost 2–3× summer rates and the most popular attractions require advance booking.
April and October are excellent shoulder months — most of the great weather, 20–40% lower hotel prices, and meaningfully fewer crowds. These are arguably the sweet spot for travellers who want quality without peak-season prices and logistics.
May to September is the hot season — temperatures of 40–46°C and high humidity in July and August. Dubai works year-round (world-class air conditioning, extraordinary indoor infrastructure) but outdoor activities are limited to early morning and evening. Hotel prices are 40–65% below peak. For travellers who can handle the heat and want the best hotel value, this window works well if you're comfortable structuring days around it.
Ramadan shifts 10–11 days earlier each year — a unique cultural experience that some visitors specifically target (fewer crowds, hotel deals, the extraordinary iftar atmosphere), while others prefer to avoid the daytime eating restrictions. Neither choice is wrong.

The weather is as good as it gets — 22–30°C highs, low humidity, clear skies. Every outdoor activity works perfectly: beach days, desert safaris, rooftop bars at sunset, the Fountain boardwalk at night. Kite Beach in January is arguably the most pleasant beach experience in the Gulf. The downside: peak-season hotel prices (typically 2–3× summer rates), advance booking required for popular slots (Burj Khalifa sunset, Friday brunches, Skyview Bar), and December specifically sees the city at maximum capacity. New Year's Eve in Dubai — the Burj Khalifa fireworks with 1.5 million people on the Fountain boardwalk — is one of the world's great events but requires advance booking of hotels 6–9 months out.
The smart choice for many travellers. October is particularly excellent — the heat has broken meaningfully from September, hotel prices are still 25–35% below December rates, and the city is operating at good energy without peak-season crowds. April has the same logic applied to the spring transition. The outdoor experience is slightly compromised versus January–March (April afternoons can reach 35°C, which limits beach time to mornings and evenings) but most travellers barely notice the difference.
Underrated by most visitors. The heat is genuine — 46°C in July is not a marketing exaggeration — but Dubai was built for this. Every building, taxi, mall and Metro is at 21–22°C. The city runs perfectly in summer; it just runs indoors. Hotel prices drop 40–65% from peak rates. Atlantis The Palm at 950 AED in July versus 2,200 AED in December is the same hotel, same waterpark, same beach. If your schedule allows summer and you're comfortable structuring days around the heat, Dubai in July offers the best hotel value of any month.
