What Atlantis The Palm is
Atlantis The Palm opened in 2008 at the apex of Palm Jumeirah's crescent — a 1,548-room resort built around the mythology of the lost city of Atlantis. It is one of the world's most recognised resort hotels: its pink-rose Arches Gate connecting two towers is as iconic in Dubai as the Burj Al Arab sail. It was the resort that put the Palm on the global map.
The hotel is enormous — and deliberately so. Aquaventure Waterpark, the Lost Chambers Aquarium, 17 restaurants, a 700-metre private beach, multiple pools, a waterslide that drops through a shark tank, dolphin experiences and a kids' club. Atlantis The Palm is built for maximum activity and family immersion — it is not a quiet retreat. Guests who stay here often barely leave the resort for their entire trip.
Since its younger sibling Atlantis The Royal opened in 2023 on the opposite side of the crescent, Atlantis The Palm has become the family-forward option — slightly lower price point, bigger waterpark, better for children. The Royal targets a younger, no-kids-in-pools luxury crowd. Both are excellent. Which one depends entirely on who you're travelling with.

§ 04 — Visiting without staying
Day visitor options
You don't need to stay at Atlantis The Palm to access many of its facilities. Day pass options include:
- Aquaventure day pass — 395 AED adults, 320 AED children (under 1.2m). Includes the waterpark and beach. Does not include the aquarium.
- Aquaventure + Lost Chambers combo — 495 AED. Both main attractions.
- Beach club day pass — the beach and pool only (no waterslides) — 250–300 AED depending on season, includes a food credit.
- Restaurant only — walk-in or reservation at most restaurants without hotel stay. Nobu and Ossiano require bookings well in advance.
Best value day visit: The Aquaventure day pass is genuinely excellent value if you have kids or love waterparks. Factor in a full day — the park is large and 4–5 hours is the minimum to cover it properly. Food at the waterpark is expensive (budget 150–200 AED per person for lunch); the beach restaurant is better value.
